Libby's eighth annual Chainsaw Carving Championship wrapped up Sunday, September 8, with Sunday's quick carve and auction, final judging of exhibition pieces and subsequent auction, and awards. Predictably, the carvers produced stunning pieces of chainsaw art. This is one of Libby's premiere events, drawing exceptional artistic talent to town for an incredible weekend of chainsaw carving.
It was an unseasonably hot four days, with temperatures reaching into the high 80s all weekend. But the carvers, spectators and auction audiences persevered under sunny skies.
Carving this year were Robby Bast, Dennis Beach, Adrian Bois, Sam Bowsher, Marina Cole, Mark Colp, Lkhagvadorj Dorjsuren (George), Zoe Dussia, Denny Henson, Steven Higgins, Brigitte Lochhead, Bongo Love, Alex Pricob, Emil Szkipala, Thor, Jesse Toso, Raimondas Uždravis, Ryan Villiers, Taylor White, and Chris Wood.
