The Kootenai RC Racers presented Hot August Showdown XII over the weekend of August 2-3 (scheduled for 2-4) at Cabinet Mountain RC Raceway, the 12th year of this popular remote control racing event. Sponsored by Scheer Bros. Hobbies and various businesses, the racing action provided a family-friendly weekend for RC race fans and drivers on a newly rebuilt track.
Weekend weather turned out to be a challenge, with adjustments being made for Sunday's anticipated rain. Sunday's racing was condensed into Saturday for this year's 48 entries. Saturday, however, was pleasant with official afternoon temperatures reaching into the low to mid 80s.
