Kootenai River Stampede
PRCA Rodeo
July 30, 2024
The Kootenai River Stampede was held over the weekend of July 26-27 at the J. Neils Park arena. It's a Montana Professional Rodeo Cowboys Association (PRCA) event, meaning that the cowboys competing in the rodeo are some of the top competitors in the Montana circuit.
The Women's Professional Rodeo Association is also represented at the rodeo with barrel racing and breakaway roping.
The first Kootenai River Rodeo was held in 2004, making this the twenty-first year of rodeo action in Libby. The name and sponsorship changed in 2017 to the Kootenai River Stampede, with a multitude of businesses and community members now sponsoring the event. It has become one of Libby's anticipated summer traditions.
