Two Rivers Rendezvous
July 17, 2020
The Kootenai Muzzleloaders held their annual Two Rivers Rendezvous at Fawn Creek Campground over the weekend of July 9-12. Saturday afternoon's sign-up had 83 participants, which is a good turnout for the event. The weather cooperated with overall moderate temperatures allowing rifle and pistol shooting, although Saturday afternoon's temperature reached into the low 80s. Conditions in some previous years have been so hot and dry that firearms were not allowed.
The Rendezvous is an annual gathering of modern-day mountain men and women who share a love of history and the re-creation of the fur-trading era in the 1800s Rocky Mountain West. It features black powder rifle and pistol shooting as well as archery and 'hawks and knives. Authentic clothing and equipment of the period are always featured at the Rendezvous, and visitors are welcome to attend and see a glimpse of what life was like during the fur-trade era.
