Polar Bear Plunge
February 26, 2019
Polar Bear Rick Klin and hardy soul Jamie Brebner took the polar bear plunge Sunday, February 24, in Libby Creek. The air temperature under a cloudy gray sky was 26° while the water temperature was a warmer-than-expected 36° with no ice on the creek in spite of recent very cold temperatures.
Jamie's goal is to get her Polar Bear membership card, which requires 12 plunges in a season. This was plunge number six.
Those wishing to try a plunge of their own are always welcome, as are spectators to watch the craziness every Sunday afternoon through the winter at 2:00 p.m. at the Farm to Market bridge on Libby Creek.
