Fisher River Valley Fire/Rescue Ice Fishing Derby Held January 26-27 January 28, 2019 Fisher River Valley Fire/Rescue held its annual ice fishing derby over the weekend, January 26-27, on the Thompson Chain of Lakes. There were 360 adults registered by early Saturday afternoon with an additional 65 kids entered. Entry fees were divided equally for pike, salmon, rainbow and perch. It was a beautiful weekend for the derby, with sunshine and a cloudless blue sky. It was a perfect opportunity for family and friends to enjoy northwest Montana in the winter.
