Holiday Bazaar Nov. 2 & 3 at The Heritage Museum
by The Heritage Museum
October 26, 2018
At The Heritage Museum’s Holiday Bazaar you can get an early start on your Christmas shopping. An array of handcrafted items will be displayed throughout the Museum this Friday and Saturday, Nov. 2nd and 3rd. You can support your local Museum while you enjoy a holiday shopping experience.
Friday, November 2nd from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 3rd from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. there will be a festive mood in the air. The Museum will be alive with music and chatter as shoppers search for those perfect gifts. There will be pottery, needlecrafts, woodcrafts, jewelry, photographs, artwork, note cards, calendars, Christmas decor, jellies, candies, baked goods, soaps, lotions, and more. In addition to the handcrafted items, the Museum’s table will be overflowing with items and gift certificates that have been generously donated for this fundraiser by local merchants and friends of the Museum. 100% of the money earned at this table goes directly to the Museum.
The Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild will have a beautiful display of their seasonal quilts in the Tower Gallery. It’s a kaleidoscope of color you won’t want to miss!
On Friday night you can come straight from work and have dinner before shopping the night away. Hot, delicious homemade soups will be on the menu at the cookhouse located at the end of the parking lot. Burgers, hotdogs and chili are planned for Saturday. Save room for dessert! Our busy bakers will provide a selection of baked goods both Friday and Saturday. Treat yourself to a piece of pie or cake before or after your shopping experience!
There will be a Silent Auction for a three-night stay at Pend Oreille Shores Resort in Hope, Idaho. Enjoy this weekend getaway in a one bedroom condo with a fully equipped kitchen, fireplace, and many other amenities. Also on site is an athletic club with indoor pool, indoor and outdoor hot tubs, sauna, steam room, tanning bed, weight room and racquetball courts. Bidding begins Nov. 2 at 4:00 p.m. and closes Nov. 3 at 3:00 p.m. Full details available at the Holiday Bazaar and on Facebook. Look for an additional Silent Auction on Facebook (www.facebook.com/LibbyHeritageMuseum) for an identical three-night stay. That auction will take place the following weekend only on Facebook during Winter Expo, with bidding opening Nov. 9 at 4:00 p.m. and closing on Sunday Nov. 11 at 5:00 p.m.
The Holiday Bazaar is a major fundraiser for the Museum. With no income during the winter months, the Museum depends on the Holiday Bazaar to cover the yearly insurance premium and winter heating bills. A portion of the profit will come from the raffle. First prize is $100 cash donated by Edward Jones Investments; second prize is $100 in gift cards to 4B’s Restaurant donated by 4B’s. There will be about 30 third prizes donated by participating crafters. Tickets are 12 for $10, 6 for $5 or $1 each. The drawing will take place during the Holiday Bazaar at 3 PM on Saturday, Nov. 3rd. You need not be present to win.
