April 26, 2018 Spring-flowering bulbs and bumble bees are a welcome sign of spring after a long, snowy winter in northwest Montana. Twenty-eight species of bumble bees have been identified for Montana, which can be found in Montana State University's Bumble Bees of Montana and the state's Montana Field Guide. Native bumble bees are important pollinators of wild flowers and commercial crops and can be seen foraging among many types of plants through the spring and summer. |
