November 15, 2017
The Capitol Christmas Tree cut on the Kootenai National Forest visited Libby and Troy on Tuesday, November 14, headed across the country on its journey to the U.S. Capitol. The tree, a 79 foot Engelmann spruce, was cut from the Upper Ford administrative site in the Yaak. Pete Tallmadge, a fifth-generation sawyer from Troy, was selected to cut the tree, and Larry Spiekermeier, from Plains, with Whitewood Transport is trucking the tree to the Capitol. Follow the tree's journey here.
