Holiday Bazaar Nov. 3 & 4 at the Heritage Museum in Libby
by The Heritage Museum
October 27, 2017
The Christmas season will be here before we know it and the Heritage Museum’s Holiday Bazaar, which traditionally kicks off the holiday season each year, will take place Friday, November 3rd from 4 to 7 p.m. and Saturday, November 4th from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. There will be a wide array of crafts made in the area – woodcrafts, jewelry, holiday and home décor, needlecrafts, photography, artwork, specialty food items and more. This year you will find some new vendors, as well as several whose wares are sought out by customers year after year. Whether you’re shopping for gift-giving or for yourself, you’re sure to find something to your liking.
In addition to the vendors, the Museum will have tables filled with items and gift certificates that have been generously donated by local merchants and friends of the museum. 100% of the money earned at this table goes directly to the Museum.
The Holiday Bazaar is the museum’s main fundraiser of the year, using the profits to cover the yearly insurance premium and the winter heating bills. The Heritage Museum is run entirely by volunteers and is funded by donations. A large portion of the profit will come from the sale of raffle tickets. First prize is $100 cash donated by Edward Jones Investments; second prize is a $100 gift card to Cedars Restaurant and Spirit Lounge. There are over 25 third prizes donated by all the participating vendors. Tickets are $10 for a book of 12, 6 for $5 or $1 each and are available at the bazaar or from museum volunteers. The drawing will take place during the Holiday Bazaar at 3 PM on Saturday, Nov. 4th. You need not be present to win.
During the Bazaar, there will also be a Silent Auction for a 3 night stay at Pend Oreille Shores Resort in a fully furnished, one bedroom condo that sleeps four. Located in Hope, Idaho, it’s the perfect place for a quick getaway. Bidding opens at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, Nov. 3rd and concludes at 4:00 p.m. on Saturday, Nov. 4th. Full details on the prize and bidding process are available on request. E-mail heritagemuseum@frontier.com with "Silent Auction" in the Subject line.
Plan to stop in at the cookhouse before or after shopping on Friday for a satisfying bowl of homemade soup. You’ll have your choice of Creamy Potato or Vegetable Beef. On Saturday, the ever-popular burgers and hot dogs will be served. As always, our dedicated volunteer bakers will provide an assortment of pies and other desserts to top off your meal.
