Sheaf toss Kootenai Highland Gathering July 24, 2017 The fifth annual Kootenai Highland Gathering celebrating Celtic heritage, culture and kinship was held over the weekend of July 14-16 at the River Bend along the Kootenai River. The Montana Highlanders Association Bagpipe Band from Kalispell was in attendance to lend an authentic musical backdrop for the event. Traditional Celtic highland games sanctioned by the Scottish American Athletic Association were featured, as were clans in traditional dress, music, dancers, food, and vendors. The event is organized by Angie McLaury of McLaury Apiaries and assisted by volunteers.
