Heritage Museum Opening Celebration June 5, 2017 The Heritage Museum opened its doors May 1 and held its annual opening celebration Saturday, June 3. Operating machinery, gold panning, square dancing, music, presentations in the Beebe Room, Model T rides, ham radio demonstrations, Kootenai National Forest Christmas tree ornaments, a visit from Smokey Bear, Shay locomotive update, quilts on display in the Tower Gallery and lunch in the Sylvanite Cookhouse were all offered throughout the day, making it an ideal family event. The Heritage Museum is open through September 30, Monday through Saturday 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday 1:00 to 5:00 p.m. Admission is by donation.
