Libby Logger Days
June 28, 2016
Libby held its 58th annual Logger Days celebration over the weekend, June 23-26, at J. Neils Park. Libby Logger Days annually celebrates the area's logging heritage, with fun activities for the entire family. Available Thursday through Saturday were the carnival, food booths, merchant booths, and Closeup dunk tank, with the softball tournament continuing Sunday.
Thursday's highlights included a ping pong ball drop and kids' water fight, the boxing smoker, and music by 4 on the Floor.
Friday's schedule included kids' tug-of-war and pillow fight (Wimp of the Woods), adults' tug-of-war, the popular lawnmower races, and music by Spokane's Hankers.
Saturday started with a 5/10K run, the annual parade down Mineral Avenue, a Timberworks Lumberjack show, kids' logging events and sawdust pile, the ever-popular Bull and Bullette of the Woods, the ATV raffle and music again by the Hankers.
Kraig Nelson and Taylor Riggles were the Bull and Bullette of the Woods winners, each taking home $500 for their boxing-on-a-log efforts.
The Jack and Jill softball tournament held in conjunction with Logger Days benefits the Alison Eanes Score Foundation for Breast Cancer Education.
Logger Days would not be possible without the countless volunteer hours supplied by members of the community and the businesses that support the effort. Volunteers are always welcome.
