Libby Nordicfest 2015
September 16, 2015
The 31st edition of Libby's Nordicfest was held September 11-13, with many of the usual festivities that have come to be associated with Nordicfest.
Reigning this year were King and Queen Duane and Peggy Williams, Princess Lily Feeback and Prince Jonny Cielak.
Friday's events featured the Bunad parade and youth Runnerfell. Saturday's main attraction was the parade, and all three days featured the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild's quilt show, a juried craft show, food vendors, and entertainment. A Hardanger display was shown Friday and Saturday, and the Kootenai Karacters presented their melodrama Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings.
Missing this year, and last, was the Fjord horse show. Formed in 1986, the Pacific Northwest Fjord Promotional Group held its first show in Libby in 1987, and continued through 2013.
The Nordicfest board is always looking for new members to help continue the tradition, and invites anyone who's interested to volunteer with this long-standing event.
