Leigh Lake September 27, 2015 Leigh Lake is one of the more popular hikes in the Cabinet Mountains Wilderness Area, and with good reason. Close to town, the hike is short (1 1/2 miles one way), although steep, gaining about 1000 feet in elevation. It's also spectacular. The pristine glacial cirque is overlooked by the majestic and imposing Snowshoe Peak, the highest point in the wilderness area at 8,738 feet. These photos were taken September 22, 2015.
