Gray sky is from smoke Smoky Skies August 23, 2015 Driving with headlights on during daylight hours has become the norm lately with our smoke-filled skies. With large fires burning around the Flathead, in Idaho and Washington, and around the Kootenai, smoke is coming from every direction. A wind shift and isolated thunderstorms on Saturday helped clear the air, but Sunday saw smoke filling our skies once again. Stage II fire restrictions are currently in place. Current air quality reports can be found at Montana's DEQ web site at Today's Air or call Lincoln County's air quality hotline at 293-5644.
