Saturday, August 29, 2015 Due to aggressive movement of the Klatawa Fire down the Granite Creek drainage overnight, and after consultation and recommendation of the Goat Rock Complex Rocky Mountain Incident Management Team, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has issued an immediate emergency evacuation notice in Libby, Montana. An EVACUATION NOTICE has been issued for ALL residents of ** Lower Granite Lake Rd ** Granite Creek Rd ** Willow Rd ** Prospect Creek Rd ** Winchester Dr ** Granite Lake Rd We ask that all residents to be out of their homes by 1:00 pm TODAY, August 29, 2015. Individual notifications are currently being made by Sheriff Bowe and deputies to 41 addresses in the area. CodeRED telephone notification have been made for the area. The Red Cross shelter will be staged at the Assembly of God Church, 105 Collins Avenue, in Libby. In addition, the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office has issued a precautionary PRE-EVACUATION notice for all residents and businesses on the west side of Highway 2, starting from Pearl Street near Atkins South Gas Station and extending south to and including Bear Creek Road. This also includes all residences on Snowshoe Road south of Hogan Drive.
