Two Rivers Rendezvous
July 21, 2015
The Two Rivers Rendezvous was held over the weekend, hosted by the Kootenai Muzzleloaders. The Rendezvous is a gathering of folks interested in the 1800s Rocky Mountain West, and it normally features black powder rifle and pistol shooting as well as archery, 'hawks and knives. The hot weather in June and July, however, precluded shooting so participants were limited to non- shooting events and attending various demonstrations scheduled for the weekend in lieu of shooting.
The weather and fire restrictions had an impact on participation, as only 38 people had registered as of Saturday afternoon. Although it was a quiet weekend, participants were still able to enjoy the company of their friends in the beautiful setting of Fawn Creek campground.
Authentic clothing and equipment of the period are always featured at the Rendezvous, and visitors are welcome to attend and get a glimpse of what life was like as the area was being settled.
