Saturday, May 9th's Scenic Tour of the Kootenai River (STOKR) bike ride could not have been any better had it been made to order. The weather was beautiful, the temperature perfect, and the ride another success for Kootenai Valley Partners Habitat for Humanity. According to STOKR organizer Susie Rice, 380 riders participated in this year's ride.
In its 21st year, STOKR riders have supported the building of ten Habitat for Humanity houses in the Libby/Troy area.
This year's house was awarded to Jennifer Holm and her daughter, Jazmine, from Libby. It's located on W. 1st Street between two other Habitat houses. Several STOKR riders came early to help work on the house, which was at the floor joist and subflooring stage.
The gorgeous scenery, the friendly Libby volunteers, the homemade soups and pies, and beautiful weather all added up to one perfect STOKR weekend.
