Nordicfest 2014
Be Our Guest at the 30th Fest
September 16, 2014
The 30th annual Nordicfest was held over the weekend, providing most of the usual food, fun and entertainment it's famous for. Missing this year, however, were the Fjord horses, which cancelled unexpectedly due to another engagement.
Events to celebrate Libby's Scandinavian culture included a bunad (Scandinavian costume) parade, youth runnerfell, Saturday's parade downtown, Libby Fine Arts art show, the Kootenai Valley Quilt Guild quilt show, Hardanger (embroidery) show, Kootenai Karacters melodrama, juried craft show, free entertainment all three days and of course, the food that we all look forward to. A special treat was a Treasure Tones reunion concert Friday night.
King and Queen this year were Duane and Peggy Williams. Jerry and Ellen Frament were Kootenai and Mrs. Knute, Ryan and Katie Andreessen were parade marshals, and Hanna Stewart and Shyla Stevenson were Nordicfest princesses.
