Peterson sentenced to 30 years for assault on wife

District Court Judge James Wheelis sentenced convicted wife beater Joshua Peterson, 36, to thirty years in the Montana State Prison without the chance of parole Monday in District Court.
Peterson attacked his wife, Tracee Peterson, with a baseball bat on September 28, 2013 resulting in severe injuries to her head which nearly killed her.
Wheelis exceeded the recommended sentence of Lincoln County Attorney Bernie Cassidy for 25 years in prison with seven years suspended.
Peterson's attorney requested a sentence of five years in prison with 25 years suspended. __________________________________________
