Libby’s new Cabinet Peaks Medical Center held an open house Saturday, January 18, where continual guided tours took over 500 visitors throughout the recently finished hospital.
Included in the tour was a walk by the emergency department; a look at the imaging department, with its wide-bore MRI machine; a typical patient room, all single rooms with private bathrooms; the physical/occupational/speech therapy room, with a picture window view of the Cabinet Mountains; a nurses’ station; a maternity labor room, one of three with showers and hot tubs; one of two operating rooms, 50% larger than St. John’s operating rooms; the chapel, and the River Rock Café. Throughout the hallways are photographs of local landmarks taken by local photographers. There are three meeting rooms for public use.
The $35 million, 77,000 square-foot hospital was completed in 15 months and will open to the public on January 30, with a ribbon cutting scheduled for January 31.
