Incumbent Doug Roll will retain his seat as Libby Mayor over challenger Allen Olsen by a vote of 290-277 in the Libby Municipal elections held Tuesday, November 5th.
Three seats were up for grabs on the Libby City Council. Robin Benson will retain her seat, receiving the most support with 343 votes. Challenger Brent Teske got the second most votes with 209, earning a seat. Incumbent Barbara Desh won by a mere whisker, beating challenger Vicky Lawrence by a single vote, 250-249.
In Troy, challenger Darren Coldwell defeated incumbent Tony Brown for the honor of Mayor. In the Troy City Council race, Dallas Carr and Kimberly Rowse will be new faces joining the board.
In Rexford, Richard Payton defeated Shirley O’Brien for Mayor and Peter Paul Lemer won the seat on the Town Council.
In Eureka, Leeann Schermerhorn ran unopposed for the Mayor seat. Jennifer Hannay and William Savage Jr. took the two open Town Council positions.
The Lincoln County Commissioners canvassed the City of Libby municipal election on Wednesday morning. Two of the races were supposed to qualify for automatic recounts, the Mayor's race between Roll and Olsen, and between Desh and Lawrence for Libby City Council seat. However, it was determined they did not meet the percentage of votes required for the Mayor’s race, and will only recount the Libby City Council Desh/Lawrence race.
