The 56th Lincoln County Junior Fair will be held at Asa Wood July 18-20. When I talk to people about the Fair, I usually get one of two responses. Either it's, "Oh yes, I was in that every year when I was growing up and then all my kids were too!" or I hear, "Isn't it just for 4-H or something"? No – it’s for all youth ages 0-18 in Lincoln County. All the information for entering and participating is on line at www.lincolncountymt.us/juniorfair.com and also on Facebook. Please visit the websites and come and join in the fun.
Youth can enter arts (all kinds of drawings, coloring, painting), crafts, building sets, baking, animals (pets too), photography – just about anything you can think of to make or create, there is a place to enter it. Every entry earns a ribbon, and every ribbon earns prize money - what a great way to earn some summer cash!
The fair will begin Thursday, July 18 with registration at Asa Wood from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. which is when you also register to be in the costume parade held Friday morning, July 19th. Then, there is an afternoon dog competition followed by the talent show. Saturday morning, July 19, the public is invited to J Neils park to see livestock judging. All of the exhibits at Asa Wood are open to viewing Friday and Saturday afternoons. Please come see all the neat things our youth have created.
The Jr. Fair is put on by numerous community volunteers and judges. This truly is a community event. See you at the fair!
