Columbia River Treaty public meetings May 13 & 15

There will be a public meeting at City Hall in Libby on Monday, May 13 from 4pm to 7pm to discuss the future of the Columbia River Treaty between the United States and Canada. The US Army Corps of Engineers and Bonneville Power Administration (BPA) will be hosting the meeting.

Those attending the meeting will:
* Learn how federal agencies manage water in the Columbia River Basin.
* Learn about the Columbia River Treaty, its history and its value.
* Discuss the potential future of the Treaty and the efforts underway to understand what change could mean to the Northwest.

Also on the agenda will be Libby Dam operations and Draft Management Plan.

There will be another meeting in Eureka on Wednesday, May 15 from 4-7 p.m. at the RiverStone Lodge, 6370 Hwy 93 North.
