Walking for the Fallen
Sgt. Chuck Lewis on 3300 mile trek
by Maggie Craig
April 26, 2013
Sgt. Chuck Lewis, aka the "Montana Honor Guard," is a United States Marine Corps and United States Navy Reserve Veteran. Sgt. Lewis passed through Libby earlier in the week, and many may have seen him walking along Highway 2. His story is an inspiration.
He recently created the "Walking for the Fallen ~ USA" project, which is taking him on a walking adventure across the United States. He started from Everett, Washington, on March 31, and will reach Kalispell this weekend. His goal is to walk from Everett to the Vietnam Veterans Memorial in Washington, D.C. and his mission is to educate the general public, recruit Honor Guard members and raise funds for our wounded and disabled military veterans. Follow him at walkingforthefallen.com. You can read about him and his inspiring undertaking, and you can also follow his live progress as he makes his way across the country, entirely by foot.
Thank you, Sgt. Lewis, and all our veterans, for your service.
