Libby Polar Bears Last Swim of Season
April 12, 2013
The Libby Polar Bears had their last dip of the season Sunday afternoon, with two Bears in attendance. Rick Klin and Steve Sonju were the only two who would brave the higher spring runoff of Libby Creek. Although warmer than in winter with a water temperature of 41 degrees and the air temperature at 42 degrees, the swift, silty water made the last dip of the season a little difficult. Sunday's swim was the last one for this season, but future Polar Bears and spectators can look forward to next season, beginning the last Sunday in October at the Libby Creek bridge on Farm to Market Road at 2:00 p.m.
