Lincoln County restaurants will be required to publicly post the results of their health inspections.
The City-County Board of Health took action Wednesday, Feb. 6th, to require retail food establishments to post a "letter-grade" placard with their earned grade and date of inspection on a window, door, or location clearly visible to the public upon entry to the establishment. The placard will be provided by the Lincoln County Environmental Health Department and will remain in effect until the next inspection.
Inspections are unannounced and conducted by Lincoln County Environmental Health throughout the year, not less than once per calendar year. School lunch programs are inspected a minimum of twice per year.
The Board's action is to indicate to the consumer the risk of consuming food from the establishment and provide incentive for the restaurant to seek a higher inspection score. _______________________________________________
