Doug Miller, Vice President of Operations at the Troy mine told Lincoln county Commissioners on Wednesday, January 23rd. "We haven't laid anybody off. We've given people the option whether they want to take vacation or they want to take days off or continue to work," Miller said. "Our intent now is to try to keep people working until we can get onto the other side - know that it's coming next week and formulate a plan."
Miners are still not underground and those choosing to work are doing maintenance top side for now.
Miller told the Commissioners the company will assess the situation January 28 addressing the ore body from the south side and working to the north to see what the extent of that ground fall is."
Revett hasn't determined a date to resume operations. Revett halted operations at Troy following two earthquakes in the Troy area within the last months, and resulting rock fall in the mine.
The 200 employees at the Troy Mine still have their jobs...for now. _____________________________________________
