Pending litigation blamed for work slowdown at Stinger plant

Steve Patrick of Stinger Welding told a meeting of Job Service Employer Committee after the death of company owner Carl Douglas in a December plane crash on Swede Mountain, Stinger is currently back in operation but may not continue to operate for longer than a couple of months due to pending lawsuits.

Stinger currently provides jobs for 68 families, down from 102, and the community needs to show their support if they want the company to continue to maintain the Libby operation, said Patrick. No future work is currently being solicited due to pending litigation with the County and the Port Authority.
