Frosty Trees

Hoarfrost coats trees along Highway 2 near Loon Lake Friday
morning. Hoarfrost occurs when water vapor touches a very cold
surface and freezes instantly. It usually occurs along rivers
or lakes when the air gets very cold and fog or mist rises
from the water and freezes on the trees.
