Libby Polar Bear Season Begins

The Libby Polar Bears met Sunday at Libby Creek for their
first swim of the season. The air temperature was 42 degrees
with the water temperature a warmer 45 degrees under a cloudy
sky. A total of seven took the plunge, including regulars
Polar Bear Rick Klin, Steve Sonju, Annette Sauby, and 11-year-
old Matthew White; Craig Allen returning for a second time;
and newcomers Alan Gerstenecker and 9-year-old Savannah
Wooden.
The Libby Polar Bear Club always welcomes new members and
spectators every Sunday through the winter at 2:00 p.m. at the
Libby Creek bridge on Farm to Market Road.
