After the story about the hospital getting HUD approval of a $32 million dollar loan guarantee for a new hospital was posted, several people wanted to know the disposition of the current St. John’s Hospital. Will it be demolished?
According to K.C. Hoyer Executive Director St. John's Lutheran Hospital Foundation, the current hospital building will stay intact and house some departments that don’t require acute care infrastructure like the business office, and Information Systems and Maintenance departments in the current building; however they will have offices in the new building for easy access. Complete plans for the use of the old hospital are still being discussed, Hoyer said. ______________________________________
