St. John's Lutheran Hospital has hired Bruce Whitfield to fill the roles both of Chief Executive Officer and Chief Financial Officer. Previously that had been two separate positions.
Whitfield comes from Providence Health & Services System where he was the CFO of the Western Montana Region including St. Patrick Hospital in Missoula, St. Joseph Medical Center in Polson, which is a 25-bed critical access hospital much like St. John's; and Providence Medical Group, a network of 144 primary and specialty care physicians. Prior experience included CFO for St. James Healthcare in Butte, and Regional Director of Financial Planning and Director of Finance roles with St. Vincent Healthcare in Billings.
He holds a Masters of Business Administration from the University of Montana and is a Certified Public Accountant.
Whitfield has over 20 years of healthcare industry experience and brings a wealth of strategic and financial expertise leading several financial turnarounds and instrumental in improving the financial health of each organization he served. ______________________________________
