Family fight ends in gunshot wound

A family feud Saturday has Eric Nowakowski, 23, charged with Negligent Endangerment, a misdemeanor, and being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center on $2,500 bond pending an initial court appearance, and Timothy Nowakowski, 47, charged with two counts of Partner/Family Member Assault, a misdemeanor, being held at the Lincoln County Detention Center on $2,500 bond pending an initial court appearance.
Saturday, September 15th, at approximately 9:40 pm, Lincoln County sheriff's deputies began receiving reports that a large family fight was taking place at a trailer court in Eureka. An investigation determined a physical altercation had taken place between Timothy Nowakowski and at least two other family members. At some point during the fight, Nowakowski's nephew, Eric Nowakowski, negligently fired a 9mm handgun in an effort to end the altercation. An adult female, who had been trying to break up the fight was struck by the bullet. After initially refusing treatment, the female was later transported to the hospital. ____________________________________
