Two Rivers Rendezvous

The father-son team of Joshua and ten-year-old Lucas Cox from Newport, Washington, compete in the team event at the Two Rivers Rendezvous held over the weekend at Fawn Creek campground. Lucas was the youngest team member to compete of the nine two-member teams that entered.
The timed team event was new this year, and required both team members to shoot both a rifle and pistol at three stations, as well as throw a 'hawk and knife at another station and set two traps out of three, all within ten minutes. The course proved to be a challenge, as no team was able to finish within the allotted time.
About 65 people came from around the northwest to participate in the family-friendly rendezvous, hosted by the Kootenai Muzzleloaders. Sharing an interest in the 1800s fur trade era, it is still a gathering of old and new friends to visit and share information; buy, sell and trade wares; and engage in friendly competition.
