Tony Brown selected as new Troy Mayor

Friday evening, acting Troy Mayor, Phil Fisher, and the Troy city council were to select a city attorney and appoint a mayor for Troy, replacing recalled former Mayor Don Banning. Letters of interest where received from 4 people.
The Council appointed former Troy Mayor Tony Brown to fill the position. Brown was Troy Mayor May 1977 to December 1981.
Mayor Brown requested the City attorney appointment be tabled until he was able to look at everything in order to make an informed decision. The council had plans to hire two attorneys. Jim Reintsma will handle prosecutorial duties, and Chuck Evans will be retained to handle internal city business affairs. __________________________________
