A two and a half-year-old Eureka boy is dead after drowning in the Edna Creek area.
The boy’s grandmother called the Lincoln County Sheriff’s office about 12:37pm Tuesday (April 3) saying the boy had been missing for about two hours and other family members were out searching for him. Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office, CANAM Search and Rescue, Eureka Volunteer Ambulance, U.S. Forest Service, and U.S. Border Patrol responded.
Family members had already pulled the boy out of a hole in a frozen pond a half mile south of the boy’s residence. Family members had begun CPR, but the little boy was unresponsive, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff.
ALERT helicopter from Kalispell transported the boy to Kalispell Regional Hospital.
The Sheriff’s Office has not released the child’s name. _____________________________ By Duane Williams, KLCB-KTNY Radio, www.todaysbestcountryonline.com e-mail: klcb@frontiernet.net.
