Court orders special election for Troy’s mayor office

The saga of Troy Mayor Don Banning continues.

19th District judge James Wheelis has ordered Lincoln County Clerk and Recorder Tammy Lauer to recall Banning. Lauer will be in charge of a special election for the Troy mayor's office.

The action by Wheelis follows several contentious months between Troy City Council members and Banning with the main concern involved Banning firing Troy City Attorney Chuck Evans without Council approval.
