The Flathead County SWAT team was called-in to assist the Lincoln County Sheriff's Office with what turned out to be a 17-hour standoff between law enforcement and 53-year-old Gloria Sprinkle of Libby.
Sprinkle allegedly pulled a rifle on her husband Monday evening (March 26, 2012) around 8:30pm. Sprinkle had barricaded herself in the residence and fired a shot.
Lincoln County Sheriff Roby Bowe requested the Flathead County SWAT around 3:00 p.m. Tuesday.
The incident ended peacefully Tuesday afternoon when Sprinkle gave herself up. Her husband was able to escape the home to safety.
Sprinkle was taken to the hospital for a medical evaluation.
She is being charged with two counts of assault with a weapon and one count of criminal endangerment. All three charges are felonies. The firearm was a high power rifle.
Her husband says she threatened to kill him, according to the Lincoln County Sheriff. Sprinkle is in the custody of the Lincoln County Sheriff. The investigation continues. _____________________________
