LHS Winter Awards Assembly
March 16, 2012
Libby High School held its winter awards assembly Tuesday,
honoring participants in winter sports and activities
including wrestling, basketball, pep band, cheerleading,
speech and drama, and academic all state.
Academic all state winners, which requires lettering and
maintaining a minimum 3.5 GPA for the semester, include Cody
Barrick, Josh Bowers, Hailey Craig, Hannah England, Kira
Rose, Alyssa Walker, Lauren Webrecht and Jared Winslow.
Highlights of the season include the speech and drama team
winning the drama portion of the divisional meet in January,
and Cindy Curtiss being voted as the Northwest Division
Class A Coach of the Year. Curtiss is the assistant speech
and drama coach to head coach Shelley Fisher.
Senior Kyle Leir in the 145 weight class and junior Mitch
Haugen, 130 weight class, won state wrestling titles in
Billings in February. This was Leir's second straight
title.
A special thank you goes to Brenda Nagode and the pep club
band for their attendance at home games and lending their
talent and spirit!
