Libby Polar Bears
Annette Sauby earns official membership
February 6, 2012
The Libby Polar Bears met Sunday for their weekly plunge at Libby Creek bridge on Farm to Market Road, as they do every Sunday through the winter. Super Bowl Sunday's swim was missing a few regulars, but Annette Sauby showed up for her 12th swim of the season, earning her an official Libby Polar Bear membership card. Chuck Haywood decided to try a Polar Bear swim for the first time. And of course, Polar Bear Rick was there as he is every week. Air temperature was a moderately chilly 29 degrees, and the water was at its coldest of the season at 35 degrees. Congratulations to Annette for 12 successful swims and to Chuck for being brave enough to try it! There are eight swims left for the season, with the last swim on April 1. Spectators (and swimmers) are always welcome; 2:00 p.m. Sundays on Farm to Market Road at the Libby Creek bridge.
