Troy Christmas Tree

Troy had its annual Christmas Tree lighting Saturday evening,
and the town's tree has an interesting history. According to
research done by Jim Calvi and others, the tree was first
wired for lights in December of 1931. It has been lit every
year since, with the exception of a national blackout period
during WWII. The tree is said to be over 150 years old, and
the Troy community likes to say that they have the nation's
largest living Christmas tree.
