City Council election

While there was a clear first place winner in the City Council election with Peggy Williams out-distancing Bill Bischoff with 129 votes or 24% of the total vote, second and third out of three was a bit blurred.
Three candidates, incumbents Bill Bischoff and DC Orr, and challenger Alan Olsen, came in neck and neck, separated by only ten votes, and Orr only four votes behind Olsen to be edged out of office. (Bischoff 297; Olsen 291; Orr 287)
Orr requested a recount Tuesday "just exercising my constitutional rights" he told me. The recount will occur Thursday at 9:00 am in the Commissioner’s office.
Statutes allow for the recount if differences are at least one-fourth of one percent separating candidates or within ten votes. In this case Orr was just 23-hundreths of 1 percent of the vote behind Olsen. _____________________________________________
