Heritage Museum Holiday Bazaar Nov. 4 & 5
by Heritage Museum
October 20, 2011
Ready or not, the holidays are fast approaching.
Thanksgiving is just around the corner and that means Christmas is not far behind. The Heritage Museum’s Holiday Bazaar traditionally kicks off the holiday season. So mark your calendar for Friday, November 4th from 5 to 8 pm and Saturday, November 5th from 10 am to 4 pm. That’s when the museum’s aisles will be filled with table after table of handmade crafts: wood crafts, needlecrafts, jewelry, pottery, holiday décor, homemade goodies and more. The Tower Gallery will be filled with quilts from the Kootenai Valley Quilters. Whether you’re shopping for gift-giving or just for yourself, you’re sure to find something that suits your taste. In addition, the Museum’s table will be overflowing with items and gift certificates that have been generously donated for this sale by local merchants and friends of the museum. 100% of the money earned at this table goes directly to the museum.
Before or after shopping, stop in at the museum’s historic cookhouse where food will be served both Friday night and Saturday. Our busy bakers will be sure there is a nice selection of homemade pies and cakes on hand, so save room for dessert!
The Holiday Bazaar is the museum’s main fundraiser of the year. With only three months of income - but twelve months of expenses, the museum depends on the Holiday Bazaar to cover the yearly insurance premium and the winter heating bills. A large portion of the profit will come from the raffle. First prize is $100 cash; second prize is dinner for two at The Venture, $25 gift certificate to the MK Steakhouse and dinner for two at Henry’s. There are over twenty-five third prizes donated by all the participating vendors. Tickets are $1 each or 6 for $5 and are available from museum volunteers or at Naturally Good Things, 313 California Ave. The drawing will take place during the Holiday Bazaar at 3 PM on Saturday, Nov. 5th. You need not be present to win.
