Road paving projects underway
Pipe Creek, Flower Creek, Libby Creek roads and McGillivray Campground projects

The Forest Service has several road and paving jobs underway. The Pipe Creek Road #68 will be closed for culvert replacement for one day on Friday, August 26, 2011 between Mile Post 15 and Mile Post 16. The road construction will occur between the hours of 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m. Quartz Creek Road #600 is an alternate route around the area.
Additional closures include Flower Creek Road #128, which will be closed for construction approximately one week between September 5 and September 23, approximately 1.2 miles above the cross country ski area parking lot.
Paving began Wednesday, August 24, 2011 at the McGillivray Recreation Area. This work is part of a reconstruction project including campground and road improvements. The paving contractor is out of Kalispell, and will be running several trucks over the McKillop Road, up the FDR to McGillivray and then back down Highway 37 through Libby. If you are traveling on these roads please use caution.
All of the McGillivray Recreation area will be closed, including the boat launch and beach area through 6p.m. Friday, August 26. All roadways, several trails, and all parking areas will be overlaid with pavement during this time.
The boat launch and beach area will be open for public use over the weekend. Road reconditioning and resurfacing on the Libby Creek road 231 between milepost 11 and milepost 7 at the junction with Road 643, Teeters Mountain, on the West Fisher River road. The reconditioning work is scheduled to last approximately 3.5 weeks.
The road will generally be open, but expect intermittent delays during the reconditioning. Road aggregate hauling is tentatively scheduled to begin on Monday, August 29 from the Forest Service Little Cherry gravel pit.
