Libby budget hearing August 30th

A public hearing for comment on the City of Libby's proposed 2011-2012 budget is 6 p.m. Tuesday, when the council is expected to approve the budget increase of 7.9 percent to $3.9 million dollars. It includes an $80,000 increase for improved street lighting and an increase of $6,500 for parks.
The budget includes a 1.3 percent pay raise with a 1 percent step increment for union employees, and an employee-only health insurance plan city contribution from $480 a month to $522.50 per month. It is the first union pay increase in two years.
The hearing is Tuesday, 6 pm, August 30th in the City Council Chambers in City Hall. _____________________________________________
