Phase One of the rehabilitation of the vintage Libby Railroad Station is underway with a completely new passenger boarding platform and reproduction platform lamp standards.
The nearly half million dollar improvements are being paid for by Amtrak. The renovation includes a 550-foot by 8-foot concrete Americans with Disabilities compliant passenger boarding platform, new decorative lamp standards, new handicapped-disabled parking stalls and a wheelchair lift.
Libby boarded and detrained 5, 324 passengers in 2010. Amtrak revenue from the Libby depot in 2010 was $464, 715. _____________________________________________
