Libby Logger Days 2011
July 2, 2011
Libby's annual celebration of its logging heritage was held June 23-26, featuring a new boxing event and bringing back many old standbys such as a great selection of food and merchant booths and many favorite events. The Paradise carnival stayed all four days. Thursday's events included the boxing match, replacing the adult water fight; the kids' water fight, "Wimp of the Woods" (a kids' version of Bull of the Woods), and music by Copper Mountain Band. Friday's events included kids' logging competitions, Bull and Bullette of the Woods (a crowd favorite), the King and Queen coronation, a tug-of-war, music by Jamelution, and fireworks. Saturday morning started off with a fun run and parade, and continued with a kids' ping pong ball drop, adult logging competitions, lawn mower races (another crowd- pleaser), and music again by Jamelution. Sunday featured a kids' sawdust dig for money and the ATV raffle drawing.
Logger Days royalty include King Robin Kyes and co-Queens Kaya Hardgrove and Kyla O'Brien.
