W. R. Grace & Co. has donated $250,000 to St. John's Lutheran Hospital in Libby, Montana for the twelfth consecutive year in order to help St. John’s provide high quality health care to residents of South Lincoln County.
Part of the donation will go towards assuring that the hospital has the necessary infrastructure to conduct independent health screenings to Libby residents. Grace donations have thus far totaled more than $2.5 million and been used to establish a clinic, train medical staff, purchase equipment (such as a Magnetic Resonance Imaging (MRI) unit and new devices for our state-of-the-art laboratory), treat patients, and subsidize medical procedures.
"The donations from Grace continue to help us improve our facility and provide the best care possible to our patients. We appreciate the steps Grace has taken to help our community," said Bill Patten, St. John’s CEO.
In addition, Grace created a medical expense program for current and former residents of Libby who have asbestos-related condition. The Libby Medical Program, which currently has over 1,000 enrollees, funds monitoring and treatment for asbestos-related conditions and illnesses, hospice care, and more. More information about this program can be found at www.libbymedicalprogram.com.
"We know that St. John’s provides care for their patients and it is important that we continue to support them in their expanding technology and treatments, while supporting the Libby community as a whole," remarked William Corcoran, Grace Vice President of Public and Regulatory Affairs.
